A safe place to speak up

We’re committed to building a positive, open culture where everyone feels safe, heard, and respected.

Like many NHS providers, we have Freedom to Speak Up (FTSU) Guardians: independent colleagues who support anyone with concerns about patient safety, workplace culture, or how a problem has been handled.

Speaking up helps us learn, improve, and create a safer, fairer place for everyone.

What our Freedom to Speak Up guardians do

They are here to:

🔹 Protect patient safety and care quality

🔹 Support staff to raise concerns

🔹 Promote a culture of learning and improvement

They offer confidential and impartial advice, always taking the time to listen to your concerns. Together, you’ll agree on the best next steps. This could involve bringing people together to discuss it or initiating a formal investigation if necessary.
