your time, be honest, and make it personal.
Application tips
To give yourself the best chance:
🔹 Read the job description and person specification carefully

🔹 Tailor your answers to show how you align with our values
🔹 Use clear examples of where you've made a difference
🔹 Complete all sections and double-check before submitting
Assessment days – NHS 111 applicants
We want your journey with DHU to feel welcoming, informative, and true to who we are.
If you're applying for an NHS 111 role, you'll be invited to an assessment day, where you'll:
🔹 Meet our friendly Talent Acquisition Team
🔹 Learn about our mission, values, and what being a not-for-profit CIC means
🔹 Hear more about our Employee Value Proposition (EVP) and the real impact of being a Health Advisor
You'll also:
🔹 Take part in two short assessments (listening skills and critical thinking)
🔹 Join a one-to-one interview so we can get to know you better
🔹 Meet other candidates and get a feel for our team and culture
Joining DHU Healthcare is more than just a job; it's a chance to make a difference every day. And we'll be here to support you, every step of the way.
If your application is successful, we’ll contact you by phone to arrange your interview. Our calls may come from a 'withheld number' with no caller ID, so keep an eye out!
We’ll also send a confirmation by email, so be sure to check your inbox – and your junk folder, just in case.
What to expect
Depending on the role, your interview may be:
🔹 Face-to-face
🔹 Virtual (via video call)
🔹 Or include a presentation or short assessment
What we’ll ask for
Please have the following ready:
🔹 Proof of identity and address
🔹 Right to work documentation
🔹 Any qualifications or professional registrations
🔹 Details of any reasonable adjustments you may need
Interview tips
🔹 Confirm your interview and check directions if it’s in person
🔹 Have your documents ready ahead of time
🔹 Do your research – understand the role and DHU’s values
🔹 Be yourself – we value authenticity and warmth
🔹 Ask questions – this is your chance to get to know us, too
If you’re offered a conditional role, we’ll begin our pre-employment checks in line with NHS Employment Check Standards. These checks help us maintain the safety of our patients, services, and teams.
What we check:
🔹 Identity and right to work in the UK
🔹 DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check
🔹 Employment references (usually covering the last 3 years)
🔹 Health clearance via our Occupational Health team
🔹 Qualifications and professional registrations
Some roles may require additional checks depending on the responsibilities.
We’ll guide you through the process and let you know exactly what we need, step by step.
Once your checks are complete, you’ll receive your unconditional offer and employment contract.
You’ll also:
🔹 Agree on a start date with your manager
🔹 Be added to our payroll and IT systems
🔹 Receive access to key systems before your first day
To help everything run smoothly, please review and return any documents as soon as possible to avoid delays.
We’re excited to have you on board.
You’ll be invited to our Corporate Induction, where you’ll learn more about DHU Healthcare, our values, and how we work together to deliver exceptional care.
You’ll also complete any mandatory training. That could be online or in person, depending on your role.
Our goal is to make sure you feel confident, informed, and supported from day one.
Your line manager will guide your local induction and help you settle into your new team.
At DHU Healthcare, we believe our people are our greatest strength. Every role, every colleague, every patient—matters. That starts with a candidate journey that reflects our care, our culture, and our commitment to you.
